From the Groom:
“How we kicked off our relationship….wow….thats a tough one. I guess it would have to be on June 8th, it was a stormy night. (haha..it actually was.) But it was nice out first. I had this whole idea of going up to Sandy Pond and walking around on the beach. So we hopped in my truck and started on our way up. We stopped at Taco Bell on the way and I bought some grub….. We then drove up to Meaghan’s Aunts Camp on the lake. On the way it got really dark and started to pour, but since we were already close, we decided just to drive in anyways. We drove around and she told me some of the stories of the Polka Sisters (Meaghan’s Aunts) adventures up there. Then we started to head back. I was a little nervous, because I knew I liked her but also “knew” nothing could ever happen because of how weird it would be based on everything with you.
(Okay, at this point, you might be asking yourself “who’s you??” So, to clear the air we must start at the beginning— Ahem– Mike and I(Gabe R., Meaghan’s sister) worked at the Arctic Island together and got to become friends there. Mike joined Meaghan and I on many outings and eventually let me know that he was interested in me. Well, let’s just make this story short and say that I didn’t feel the same way and proceeded to direct his attention to my wonderful, amazing older sister. During this time though, I had no idea Meaghan was really interested in Mike. I assure you that I am so happy about this match! Mike is a wonderful guy and I love the new edition to the fam! Now, back to the better part of the story…)
….So, we drove back to my house to watch a movie. On the way, somehow i ended up playing with her hair..not really sure how–I guess i’m just that smooth. (hahaha Yeah right!
) We got back to my house and watched “When Harry Met Sally” and as we were watching it we just started holding hands. And then I had my arm around her and then…just kidding–It ended with my arm around her. (But I had you going there right!?!?) After the movie we were both like..umm…what does this mean? We kind of both were really confused and shocked but definitely really liked each other. I just remember driving her back home and I stopped to get gas at the mobil on Onondaga & West Genessee. She was in the car and I was pumping and we were just saying how weird it was, but we decided to go for it and the rest is history. It’s crazy how much I love her! It’s to the point now that when I don’t see her for a day, it really hurts alot. I’m so blessed to have her apart of my life and I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life trying to be a blessing to her. Thats the story. The End.
